Wat Pariwat Ratchasongkram (Samut Prakan) (Somewhere to go) (BKK) Visit 1

Wat Pariwat Ratchasongkram is near to the Chao Phraya River in the heart of Bangkok.

It is 'off the beaten track' but worth making the effort.

Walking in the temple and simply looking at some of the construction makes it all worth it.

I did find out later that there was a David Beckham statue but was unable to find it - but if you really need to find David Beckham this is what you are looking for.

What is fascinating is some of the statues that they have made - there is a 'dragon' at the bottom of one statue.

So it would necessitate me to find out more about it!

Wat Pariwat is an old temple built some time between late Ayutthaya period and early Rattanakosin period (around the 18th century), but the buildings fell into ruin, hence the ongoing reconstruction since 2008. The completion year is set at 2028 - but it is certainly worth visiting before it has been completed.
