I had a lesson from my beautiful and patient wife on how to make Som Tum (OR Som Tam).
Here's some recipes on the Internet...
Take your carrots and papaya and then add
garlic, chilli, tomato, lime, dried small shrimps,
palm sugar, tamarind paste
fish sauce and peanuts...
Then put it under a pestle and mortar to release and mix the flavours - serve with sticky rice and / or
fried chicken...
