Ban Kao National Museum (Kanchanaburi)

Ban Kao National Museum in Kanchanaburi. was a place that we found and it was not what I expected.

Ban Kao is located next to a Neolithic burial site, around 30 km from Kanchanaburi city. The site was discovered by a Dutch POW, Dr. Van Hickderen, while working on the construction of the Death Railway. The sight proved that Neolithic man hunted in a Kwai River valley and lived in one of the nearby caves more than 4,000 years ago. A list of items that were excavated at the site includes skeletal remains, pots, stone tools, weapons like axe heads, and even jewelry made of animal bones. All these are shown at the museum right next to this stone age sight.
