Mahakarn Fort (Somewhere to go) (BKK) - Visit ?

Mahakarn Fort was somewhere where I visited on numerous occasions, there are a great many places to visit if you are in this area.

The area around the fort was the residence of some local people but they are / were being asked to move out - article.

There were 14 forts and now there are only 2 left - article2.

Wat Bang Kung (Amphawa)

Wat Bang Kung was somewhere that we have visited more than once.

It has a great deal of attraction for the Thai people - so much so that coaches of Thai people will arrive.

Then there are some odd to strange figures outside - I do not know what they mean.

Certainly worth visiting this fascinating temple when visiting Amphawa.

TKT's Row House

TKT's Row House is somewhere that I visited because I needed to complete some paperwork nearby - now I enjoy the paperwork!

I had a lovely cappuccino and next time I will try one of the special doughnuts because if they are as good as the coffee I will be happy.

Phuttha Utthayan Makha Bucha Anusorn (Nakhon Nayok) Part 1 of 2

We took a break to Nakhon Nayok and came upon this wonderful place - Phuttha Utthayan Makha Bucha Anusorn. It is what they call here a Buddhist Memorial park and it it set in Makha Bucha Park.

This was a beautiful Buddhist site that we came upon.

I read that it is actually a tribute to the special Makha Bucha event. Makha Bucha Day, also called Magha Puja Day or Sangha Day, is viewed as one of the most essential Buddhist festivals. This auspicious event refers to the worship that takes place on the full moon of the third lunar month (about the last weeks of February or early March) to celebrate the day on which Lord Buddha recounted the “Ovada Patimokkha” (the Important Teaching) to his devotees.

The place is a tribute to the revered Makha Bucha event in the Buddhist Calendar, when 1,250 disciples came to see the Buddha without being summoned. This is spectacularly represented here by the large gold Buddha surrounded by the symmetrically placed smaller gold statues of the disciples.

And goodness knows how many Buddhist statues there are in this park!!

But please be aware that there are people in Thailand who do not like the location being used like a tourist attraction - please show respect.

Wat Thepthidaram Woraviharn

Wat Thepthidaram Woraviharn is a temple that I came across on one of the Walking Maps but it is definitely worth visiting without the whole trip.

It can also be referred to as 'The Temple of Angels'.

Another use for these kitchen item...

There is a special visitor.

Fingers crossed for a beautiful sky for your photographs. There is a video of some of the Wat but I have lost it...

Wat Arun - Temple of the Dawn (Visit 2)

We visited Wat Arun when we were on the Walking Tour - Thonburi.

It is certainly an impressive place to visit if you are able to - when we first visited in 2014 it certainly looked a bit different than when we visited recently - lovely.

There are a great many Temples to visit if you come here but this one is certainly very special and photogenic.

I have read that there are a number of restaurants which offer a great evening view of Wat Arun but I am not good at night time photography yet so I will leave it to them.

Please remember to dress appropriately.
