Wat Prayasuren (Part One)

Wat Prayasuren is also known as วัดพระยาสุเรนท์.
The Wat is also linked to a very large school - Wat Phraya Surin School.

This has meant that the temple is spread over a very large area and I was unable to distinguish between different areas - if you look at the map this is what you will see.

The enormous Buddha a the very front is what you could see first.

The temple is adjacent to a khlong.

Where money can be given - but please do not throw bread into the water?

There is a bell to ring

and a bell to rub.

There are a number of smaller Buddha statues.

This one was even wearing sunglasses!!

Then there were 2 enormous golden statue adjacent to the black buddha.

And dragons adjacent to them.

So much to see

So many photographs so I have divided the post into 5 different parts.
This is Part One.
This is Part Two.
This is Part Three.
This is Part Four.
This is Part Five.

Siang Kong Shrine Chinese Temple (Bangkok)

The Siang Kong Shrine is sitting amongst the beginning of the second-hand car parts shops.  The Siang Kong Shrine is a small Hokkien Chinese temple built in 1871 to recognise the first junkyard car-parts business in the area known as Siang Kong (also transliterated as Sieng Kong).

Doubling back for a few metres, turn left into Soi Panurangsi (Panurangsi Alley) keeping an eye out for some interesting Talad Noi street art along here.  Follow Soi Panurangsi until the road splits into two.  Take the left fork and walk along Soi Wanit 2 where you will immediately cross the threshold into an area filled with small workshops selling old car spare parts and scrap metal.  You’re now in the Sieng Kong Zone! Text from Talad Noi.

There was the usual more inside the Temple itself.

Remembering of course to leave something for thanks.

ZeeZ (BKK) Visit 3 - now closed 2022

ZeeZ is somewhere we had gone because of it's close proximity to Paseo Town.

And it is very quick and subsequently very convenient.

The noodles are traditionally Thai - so don't expect anything less.

And the soup was full of flavour.

Going for a run (again)

With so much not happening I thought it would be a good idea to try some daily exercise - here's the first run...

This was the second run.

Then this is the third this week.

I think that's enough for a while...
