Mother's Day, fish and turtle release.

On Mother's Day in Thailand to pay our respects to Her Royal Highness Queen Sirikit people released animals. I was lucky to be invited by the Phuket Aquarium to be involved in their organised celebrations.

The morning was a little grey when we arrived at Phuket Aquarium but that did not dampen (sic) our enthusiasm.

The fish were prepared in bags when we arrived there at 10am. Introductions were made to the dignitaries present and short speeches were made - I ran out and left for a quick run around the aquarium - photographs will be posted soon here.

We all left Phuket aquarium and went to the local beach to release our fish and there was a lot of them and a lot of different types.

Then in the afternoon it was time to release the turtles!!

The turtles were staged - I wonder if they are tracked anywhere?

Have a selfie with a turtle...

We were at the Navy base beach this time and there were a lot more people and there was a drone - I would like to see the photographs from the drone - do you know who took the photographs?

To release a turtle you had to pick a lucky ticket but unfortunately we did not win a ticket - maybe next year?

Our 10 year Wedding Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to my lovely wife Chuen.

I took Jemma to school and then ordered some flowers from Suan Laung Flowers (where I bought my first bunch of flowers for my wife) - quickly going home to pick up the money - yes I left it at home.

Returning to Suan Luang Flowers I popped in to the Gluay Na Wa across the road.

It was Happy Hour at a coffee shop - never had this before!

I picked up my flowers and returned home - we went out for a noodle lunch
 ก๋วยเตี๋ยวต้มยำกุ้งมะนาวไข่หวาน.

We chose for the traditional noodles....

Then we picked up Jemma and went for an ice cream and a coffee at Cafe Kantary.

Web Cams in Phuket

Sri Panwa

Web Cams in Phuket are becoming more popular - I am being asked for them more often.

I have found an App ThaiLiveCam -  which sometimes works.
All the pictures here are from this App.

I drink a lot of coffee

The world is a smaller place with the Internet and blog - Oleg comes from Russia with his family and tells me that he reads that I drink a lot of coffee.

Here is a hand painted Russian coffee cup.

Thank you Oleg.

Kathu Street Festival 2015 (July 30/31 & Aug 1)

Kathu Street Festival is the place to go during the next two days
- Friday 31st of July and 1st August. The main road is closed through Kathu - from one end to the Kathu Shrine at the other side.
I love to visit Kathu Shrine on the last day of the Vegetarian Festival!

However the reason to go here is the abundance of Thai Street Foods which I am able to fill my stomach with! BUT no Chiang Mai sausages this year?

Anyway - I ate the Sea Grass / Bua Tod

Then there was the Deep Fried Sea Cicada

Not sure what the egg is...

Deep Fried Quails and Quail's eggs

Pieces of an animal...
Salted fish
How many types of sausage can you make?
Macroons
and so much more food than I have here...

Elvis turned up...

 are these parts of animals?

a good excuse for a dance?

or dress up and have a ride in a taxi tricycle?

and of course there are some Siamese Fighting Fish?

Enjoy and have a little fun...
