TripAdvisor decides to dispel some myths about the company - reading the comments in the section below the article I do wonder whether they will reply to each one?
I think that they should, do you?

September - You know you have lived in Thailand when...
After moving to Bangkok I have become aware of things which are now normal to me because I live here – and subsequently a facebook site about this “You Know You've Lived In Thailand when.....” – https://www.facebook.com/groups/YouKnowYouveLivedinThailandwhen/
so once a month I will contribute to this.
September - I have change with me to pay the taxi driver - be it on the river, a motorbike or metered...
A motorbike taxi
One of the things that I do regularly now is take a motorbike taxi to work - and then a few months later I saw that there was a price list.
But I really should read Thai if I want to know how much I should be paying...
If I just go down a Soi from the main road
is 10 Baht too much?
Bangkok 101 - September
Do you want to have a look at some interesting things which are happening in Bangkok and other places around Thailand? Will I visit - Insects in the Backyard - watch this space.
Pick up a Bangkok 101.

A trip to Samut Prakan
The car arrived from Phuket so we decided to take a road trip - to Samut Prakan. This was great because from our home it was essentially a straight line and this was using Google Maps - a more impressive App every day...
But there were a number of things on the side of the road - we didn't stop this time.
Then we saw a small building on the side of the road before we visited Ancient City - but on going down the dirt road we came upon something so much more than we expected.
It was ศาลเจ้าเสียนหลอไต้เทียนกง สมุทรปราการ OR ศาลเจ้าไต้เทียนกง and it was also stunning.
It was certainly a beautiful place to wander about it.
There were a number of different buildings to enter.
And the details on the ceilings was certainly impressive. But I could find very little information about it...
But on writing this I found this - beautiful - maybe I should have persevered with learning the drone?
Then it was time for lunch - ครัวแม่คูซีน - Mae Cuisine Cafe and Restaurant - found very little info (in English) - but great location.
Then it was time to visit Ancient Siam - the Gateway to Thailand's Cultural Heritage. This was certainly impressive.
A great many places to visit.
Looking at all of the places to visit I felt that I wanted to make a list...
Chan & Yupa Tearoom
Well this was an absolute delight - wow - we were still in the heart of Bangkok and
there was a well kept garden - how they did this I do not know - was I still in Bangkok I wondered!.
There was someone who wanted to create a 'tearoom' from their experience - and they certainly did. The air conditioning was lovely - there was a sofa to sit on or the more traditional chairs
The coffees were as good as they looked and I believe that they also do iced varieties as well...
Then there were the cakes - they are more than enough for one person - so take someone special.
We are certainly coming here again...

Book Fairies in Bangkok
Have you heard about the Book Fairies?
The Bangkok Book Fairies have recently arrived in Bangkok. You might find one if you travel on the BTS...
# days in September
This is getting a bit over the top - I did agree with doughnut day - but I am not sure with all the rest of them. But what the heck - have some fun...
Wowsrep and Instagram - recipes...
How did I find this Instagram posting - https://www.instagram.com/wowresep/.
I am going to have to make this one - this weekend...

Game of Thrones - Pencil MicroSculpture
Game of Thrones is not something I have watched (I gave up after the first series) but I have to admit I was intrigued by this.
A Pencil Microscuplture Exhibition by Salavat Fidai - have look at some videos.
It was a very small area and a number of interesting pencils - they provided you with a magnifying glass for you to look more closely.
Wow - I do not know if I could have the patience to do this.
I could not take a
good photo either...
On looking for the video above I was amazed that the art of pencil carving is not new either....
Thailand Live Gastronomy
Visited the Thailand Live Gastronomy for lunch. When I had found the Soi - on Siam Square Soi 7 behind Siam Square 1 (thanks Richard) I was bombarded with a smell of cooking.
"The ‘Thailand Live Gastronomy’ festival is being organized as part of a strategy to put greater emphasis on Gastronomy Tourism, which is considered as an important part of travel and the unique local Thai experience.
The Thailand Live Gastronomy, which will be presented with a tagline ‘Flavours to the World’, is scheduled to take place from 25 to 27 August, at one of Bangkok’s famous shopping and dining venues, Siam Square." - text from The Nation - full text link above
There were certainly a lot of different foods to choose from - I had to circle twice before I knew where to start. The street was full of Thai people who were mostly carrying food and some tabes between the stalls.
To the sides were places which were selling the fruit and produces from Thailand but I was drawn to the smell (and the queues) for the cooking food.
The queue for the crispy duck was far too long and by now I was starving -
so I went to the gyoza queue and
then the crispy pork - I loved every bit - thank you.
But what did I drink?
I was intrigued by the queue for the 'Rainbow' produced though - it was bigger - I could not get to the front
and relied on someone taking a photograph of theirs
and then another - but not sure what it was they were making. Now full I needed a coffee shop or a desert cafe...
