Anantasila Villa by The Sea

Anantasila Villa by The Sea is in a lovely location

and the beach is quite lovely

Here is our trip to Hua Hin in 2018...

Maruekhathaiyawan Palace

The summer seaside Palace, often referred to as the 'Palace of love and hope' is located midway between Cha-Am and Hua Hin. It was built in 1923 under the royal command of King Rama VI using golden teakwood from the demolished Hat Chao Samran Palace.

We decided to have something to eat. And have a family photo together.

We walked to the end - where the building meets the sea.

The Palace is made up of three sections connected by long covered walkways. Two long covered corridors connect the Palace with the beach, one from the King’s personal living quarters and one from the women’s section of the Palace.

The views were amazing.

Mrigadayavan Palace Tea Room

Mrigadayavan Palace Tea Room in Hua Hin is the former Summer Palace of King Rama VI (1924).

We have visited more than once and each time
we like to have Afternoon Tea here.

Here's our visit for Mother's Day and here's
some ideas for things to do in Hua Hin.

Ratchaphakdi Park

We came upon Ratchaphakdi Park on
our trip to Hua Hin, and on writing this I
 wanted to visit again.

There are seven statues of former Kings of Thailand and they are approximately how much each would weigh I have no idea - I would like to see the building of this place !

The Kings represented here are -

 1) King Ramkhamhaeng (reigned 1279-1298)
of the Sukhothai Period

 2) King Naresuan (1590-1605)
of the Ayutthaya Period

 3) King Narai (1656-1688)
of the Ayutthaya Period

 4) King Taksin (1767-1782)
of the Thonburi Period

 5) King Rama I (1782-1809)
of the Rattanakosin Period

6) King Mongkut (1851-1868)
of the Rattanakosin Period

 7) King Chulalongkorn (1868-1910)
of the Rattanakosin Period.

They were built by the military government after the coup to inspire the loyalty of the people to
the monarchy in Thailand.
Here's something about

We even had a Cape Panwa Hotel teddy bear in the car! I have since read that it is best to visit in the early morning because of the sun rising and then in the early evening because they are lit up!

Approximate Price: $$$$$
Address: 8 Phet Kasem Rd (in Army Non Commissioned Officer School) Hua Hin Changwat Prachuap Khiri Khan 77110

Khao Ta-Kiab Beach - Visit 2

Khao Ta-Kiab is a wonderful place to visit and we have visited more than once.

Remember to get up early to see the monks
walking along the beach.

And the sun begin to rise.

The fishermen leave early.

It is a popular place for people to have dinner - until very late and late enough
for it not to be cleaned up before the next day.

My daughter enjoys riding the horses.

And in the distance there is a
Wat จุดชมวิวเขาตะเกียบ to visit.

Khao Ta-Kiab Beach (@HuaHin)

Khao Ta-Kiab Beach is the beach we must visit when we visit Hua Hin and we usually stay at Anantasila Villa by the Sea.

Khao Ta-Kiab beach is a long stretch of beach which is still largely un-spoilt.

We always take a ride on the horses - but we do wonder how they can last so long in the heat...

There is sometimes a selection of jet-ski
and banana boats to choose from.

Then there were the monks that walked along the beach in the morning -
this does seem to be something regular ?

Watch out for the jelly-fish

and the traffic.

There are a number of restaurants on the beach which are certainly worth visiting.
There was a cafe but it was closed when
I wanted to visit.

We have been here again.

Mother's Day Weekend (@Hua Hin)

We decided to go somewhere for the weekend -
 we drove to Hua Hin.

We saw a few things on the way.

Stopped for something to eat.

Saw some great coaches in the parking spots.

We were staying at the Anantasila Resort - nice place with a beach just a stones throw.

Then there was a small cafe - a great little spot.

Then it was time to take mum out for dinner.

Then time for some shopping -
 at Cicada Market.

And of course some 'breakdancing'.

Remembering to get up early the next day we met the monks.  After a leisurely breakfast we took a drive - having Pad Thai at ครัวปีกไม้ - very nice.

It was then a visit and afternoon tea at
 ร้านน้ำชา พระราชวังมฤคทายวัน Tea Room.

A late night party and I popped out for a coffee at 1d+ Day Artist.  After an expensive
(and disappointing) breakfast we left.

 And drove back to Bangkok
