Café Amazon (nr. GOWholesale) - Visit 2

A coffee from Cafe Amazon today -

Nid and Tanyapat were closed on an early Sunday.

It was outside GO Wholesale...

All the Cafe Amazon are similar.

I listened to music whist they made my coffee

in air-conditioning.

AND I took it home.

This gentleman introduced himself to me

and sent me some photographs of him with Chinese CEO's.

Something new arrived in Phuket today - my box of LEGO characters, Star Wars books, Superworm, etc and a DVD - all from Amazon.

There was also the introduction of "Import Fees Deposit"...

This is an estimate but when the pieces arrived I find no details of the fees charged. I go onto Amazon Chat and have a 'chat'. I wanted to assess how much was charged - was it the estimate?

Well I was charged the estimate but not given confirmation that this was the actual price - living here in Thailand though I am used to paying money and...

But Amazon Chat saved the day - only just - after indicating that I would have to contact UPS for confirmation that this was the bill that was charged they relented and indicated that Amazon would send me confirmation of the price that UPS paid - not sure though?

I need to select my items more carefully as to a minimal cost

I might just send it all to Australia as their "Import Fees Deposit" only kicks in at 100 GBP.

I am not ordering a small amount again! Now that is a great excuse!

This episode did remind me of the person who was left stranded in Phuket because of the weather and the Travel Agents knew very little BUT Jet Star had a great Chat Line!

Is Chat the future?

Café Amazon (@ PTT Petrol Station) - Visit 3 (closed)

I decided to go for a walk and a coffee in the afternoon and get a coffee from the end of the Soi.

- but she was closed!

So I continued out and went to the

Cafe Amazon at the PTT Petrol Station.

And it was very good - I will go again, there is also a card you can have to get discount!

This visit was in October 2021.

There are also other options for street coffee on the same Ramkhamhaeng 76.

I had 2 coffees - they were not cheap !

Soi Ramhamhaeng 76

So I walked over the bridge opposite Soi Ramkhamhaeng 76 and found that there were none in the market area either.

I did not know what they were doing here with the meat - sun dried something perhaps? But I could see in the distance at a PTT petrol station that there was a Cafe Amazon - the other coffee shop at the nearby Esso Petrol Station is expensive (65 Baht for an Iced coffee) so I chose to go here.
