Wat King Kaeo (@Bangkok)

There was so much to see here !!!

I have to admit to not being able to find Wat King Kaw on Google Maps. But we noticed it from the road.

Maybe it is my typing - was it Wat King Kaeo?

It was certainly impressive.

But the Wat was empty of people !

The Chedi was taken care of.

I do not know the name of this

and I wonder why these vehicles had a Union Jack?

Wat King Kaeo - Visit 7 (2/2)

This Wat was by the side of the road and at
the end of the Soi.

It was very big and well taken care of.

There was something going on whilst we visited.

There was clearly some history to the Wat - I have no idea what this was !

There were a great many gifts

and there was a Buddha footprint with a
 number of coins.

There were also a number of Buddha scattered throughout the Wat.

Wat King Kaeo - Visit 2

Wat King Kaeo was somewhere we visited because it was near to Bangkok International Airport.
As we drove closer more could be seen in the distance.

One of the first things we came across after we had parked was a large Buddha.

After we had parked there was the usual places for offerings to be laid.

There were shops leading to the entrance but many seemed to be closed today.

Then we noticed that adjacent to the Buddha was the standard snake and steps.

I loved this statue - I wonder whether it meant something special?

Then there were lovely well kept gardens - as
TripAdvisor mentions.

Then there was the main temple - a grand site.

And there were more temples to see.

There was a small Chedi.

More monk statues.

I have no idea what this statue is. There was so much I decided to divide the blog into 2 posts.

We went inside and paid respect.

Very Special.

Wat King Kaeo - Visit 4 (2/2)

I cannot write this without being taken with the beauty of this Wat - but there were so few people there when we visited.

A lot of building was going on...

Inside we made merit...

More Buddhist statues adjacent to a building.

A very large Chedi.

And still more to find...

Inside and next to a khlong...

Really quite special.
