During the time that I have lived in Phuket I have been asked to share with our guests why they should not remove coral and shells from the beaches in Thailand. Then in the same week from 2 different sources (a conference and a publication) I read that Thailand's coral is being bleached by the rise in the temperature of the sea.
I went to have a look at the corals at low tide - and they are bleached!
Thailand is NOT the only place affected though
